The Ulmans are a well-off, middle class family, whose world shatters when father Valentin (Vladimir Freedman) dies unexpectedly, leaving mother Daphne (Orli Zilbershatz-Banai) to cope financially and emotionally on her own.
The new school term in September arrives before the four children have had sufficient time to come to terms with their grief, which brings its own problems: youngest daughter Bar (Eliana Magon) is afraid to be alone in the classroom, son Ido (Daniel Magon) devotes all of his time to breaking a meaningless world record, and oldest boy Yair (Nitai Gvirtz) leaves school entirely to hand out leaflets dressed as a mouse. Only 17-year-old Maya (Maya Maron) offers Daphne any support to keep the family together in this most difficult of times.
